Megan is an East Coast girl- born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She grew up in a Christian home and was blessed to have parents who loved her and showed her what it meant to follow Jesus. Megan accepted Christ at a young age, and continued to grow in her knowledge of God and Scripture throughout high school. Sports were a huge part of Megan's life growing up and it was through sports that she was challenged and grew in her faith.
Megan went on to play college soccer at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. Those four years were some of the toughest years of her life. But, it was through an Athletes in Action camp and FCA/AIA involvement on campus that helped Megan grow even more in her spiritual journey with Christ. Soccer had become god in her life and it was through injuries and other trials that God began to strip Megan of this idol. It was so freeing to finally come to a place where my worth and value was not in a sport, but was in Christ. He loved her and was proud of her regardless of her performance on the field. It was during Megan's time in college and being influenced by these sport ministries that she felt the Lord call her to sport ministry after graduation.
So, in August 2008, Megan moved out to Orange County and started to work for FCA in Huntington Valley. FCA is the perfect place to combine your passion for sport with your faith; Megan loves watching God change lives and seeing students impact their teammates, coaches and friends with the hope and message of Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 4:8)
Megan has two older sisters, Kristin and Lauren, both are married and live back east. In her free time, she enjoys going down to the beach (and taking a nap), playing basketball and soccer, traveling, and having quality time with my family, friends and fiance, Scott. Scott works with the ROTC at USC and Megan and Scott will tie the knot in June 2009. |
