Katie Berkman - Soccer

Katie is from Trabuco Canyon, California. She started playing soccer when she was five years old and fell in love with the game immediately. Katie could not get enough of the sport and always dreamed of making soccer her career. She played youth soccer for the Southern California Blues, High school soccer at Mission Viejo High School, and fulfilled her childhood dream of playing college soccer. Katie started her college career in Portland, Oregon before transferring to Biola University where she finished her career and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Biblical Studies.

After college, Katie pursued her Teaching Credential and Master’s in Education at Concordia University with ultimate dreams of teaching and coaching. Along with teaching in a special education classroom, Katie was the Biola University Women's Soccer, Assistant Coach. God quickly pulled Katie from student teaching and showed her His plan for her was to go into full-time ministry.

Katie is married to her Husband, Adam. Adam and Katie have been married for two years and they both share the same passions for soccer and ministry. Along with working in sales, Adam is the Youth Director at their Church, Heritage Christian Fellowship in Orange, Ca.

“I got started with FCA after God pulled me from student teaching and showed me that His plan for me was to go into full-time ministry. One of my good friends, Gracee Teague, who was on staff with FCA Volleyball introduced me to Sports Specific FCA, and I finally obeyed God’s calling on my life.

I am working for FCA because I love using the platform of sports, specifically the sport of soccer, to share the good news of  Jesus! I am very passionate about sharing the redeeming love of our Savior Jesus Christ and restoring Identity in Him. I was shown how to combine my biggest passions, Jesus, and soccer, and I want everyone to experience the blessings that come from using sport to glorify the Lord and further His Kingdom.
