It’s incredible how God prepares us for something before we realize what we are preparing for. My journey to becoming an Area Rep for FCA Irvine is a testament to His perfect plan.
I was born into a Christian home, and moved to Irvine when I was 5 years old. At 6, I officially accept Jesus as my Lord and savior.
I spent my schooling years in Woodbridge, and attended Woodbridge High School as a 4-year Water Polo player. It was here that God started to build the framework for a prayer I would have 9 years later. In 2007, Jared Hall brought his FCA vision to my school, and it didn’t take any convincing for me to want to be a part of FCA. I spent my sophomore and junior years on the FCA leadership team, and my Senior year leading it. I was blessed to receive FCA’s “Character and Influence” award for my leadership that year, and it affirmed for me that I would like to be among other Christians at Biola University, where I would graduate with a degree in business administration.
Upon graduation in 2014, I took a desk job in Supply Chain at a vitamin and health supplement company. During this time, I was also serving on unpaid staff at Voyager’s Bible Church in the high school program. I got so much joy and fulfillment from being a mentor to a group of 16-year-old high schoolers and felt called to take discipleship to the next level. After 18 months, I prayed one day that God would direct me to a job in which I could advance his Kingdom in a more intentional way. In a matter of days, I found out that a position in FCA had opened up in Irvine, and I reconnected with him. The rest is history.
God answered my prayer quickly it seems, but upon further reflection, I realize that this entire time he has been preparing me for this role. I am so blessed to be where I am, and above all else I’m honored that God chose me far in advance to be a light to this great area. I look forward to building relationships with these students, and seeing them grow in their walks over the span of many years
